THE SPARK FINDER
You may have been practicing yourself before anybody told you what you were supposed to become.
THIS IS NOT A PERSONALITY QUIZ.
The Spark Finder is Play Archaeology. It looks past the toys, shows, hobbies and obsessions themselves and asks the question that matters: What did you actually DO? Your repeated creative verbs are clues to the kinds of making, exploring and expression that come naturally to you.
THE FIRST DIG
Grab paper, Notes, or just answer in your head. Move quickly. Do not try to make yourself sound interesting.
What three things were you obsessed with between roughly ages 6 and 16?
What did you actually do with each one? Build? Stage? Draw? Perform? Organize? Memorize? Modify? Trade? Teach? Invent?
What activities made you lose track of time before anybody cared whether you were productive?
What have you repeatedly wanted to make, learn or try as an adult but kept postponing?
What idea has returned at least three separate times after you supposedly gave it up?
If nobody could see, judge, like, buy or grade the result, what would you still enjoy making?
THE EIGHT SPARK PATTERNS
Most people are a blend. The point is not to put you in a box. It is to give you useful language for patterns already present in your life.
Settings, systems, lore, continuity and experiences.
Characters, events and ideas turned into narratives people can feel.
Ideas need to become objects, prototypes or working things.
Voice, character, presentation, humor and audience energy.
Questions, patterns, mysteries, details and rabbit holes.
Finding, organizing and connecting meaningful things.
Changing, combining, customizing and improving what already exists.
Turning experience into something another person can understand and use.
THE FULL SPARK FINDER IS BEING BUILT RIGHT HERE.
The finished experience will turn your answers into a primary and secondary Spark pattern, show the evidence in your own history, identify abandoned signals and give you specific low-risk experiments to try now. No career prescription. No demand that you monetize a hobby. The goal is movement.
