Description
What if your favorite childhood toy was never just a toy?
What if it was a totem—a guide, a mirror, a memory trigger that still speaks to your soul?
In Toys Are Totems: How the Things We Loved as Kids Still Speak to Our Souls Today, author and storyteller Jim Bumgardner invites you on a nostalgic yet profoundly personal journey through the toys of your youth—not just as collectibles, but as powerful anchors to identity, imagination, healing, and creative fire.
From action figures to plush companions, model kits to playsets, every page is filled with stories, symbols, and deep reflections on how play shaped us—and how it can still awaken us now. Whether you’re a collector, a creator, or someone just trying to reconnect with the spark you used to feel as a kid, this book offers permission and perspective to return home to what matters most.
- This isn’t just about toys.
- It’s about reclaiming your story.
- It’s about remembering how to play—so you can remember how to live.
Heartfelt, funny, and layered with cultural insight, Toys Are Totems is part memoir, part meaning map, and part spiritual permission slip.
