It’s been what seems like forever since I considered one of the “Today’s Prompt” features as a tool to talk to you, dear reader. But this one fell in line with where I am right now. Actually where I am everywhere since I first read the phrase as written by Wallace D. Wattles in “The Science of Getting Rich”. Why? Because it made and still makes perfect sense to me.
“How so, Jim? Are you trying to chase the all mighty dollar so you can live like a fat rat and become one of the 1%” Nope. Not at all. Don’t get me wrong. To have that kind of bankroll would be super handy but it truly doesn’t motivate me and it’s also not what the actual message of the book professes. It’s about creating over competition so that the best you, the thing that makes you truly unique is allowed to live and breath which is where true success lives and emerges.
That’s Embracing the Spark. It’s AMP Multi Media’s Solutions series of programs. It’s the heartbeat and pulse found in Jim’s Toy Box and most certainly where the creations and expressions from Eerie Entertainment can live as unapologetic art and entertainment for the audience that is loking for these things to amuse and distract themselves with. You know, like me.
“We are to create not to compete.”
To be the best ME that I can be (or you the best you) first and foremost with everything else to be its own as it is. The desire to be the best at something should come from a place of inner satisfaction being expressed vs chasing the golden ring of success by other peoples standards. Of course the final monetary reward can matter in all of that. Why? Because we all live in a world and at a time where the bank balance reflects one’s worth.
That’s partially true and partially important but not at the sake of one’s actual identity. The hardest part is not loosing site of how incredibly thing that line can be crossed. So thin that you may not even realize you’ve crossed it until you’re actually 100 miles away from that defining line, and on the wrong side of it. I can admit I’ve done it so many times that I practically have a timeshare planted in that upside down world. Thankfully though I escape from it faster and faster every time the truth of the situation and my place in it wakes back up and finds me hauling ass back over to where I actually want to live in my home where the maintenance fees are actually paying for MY stuff and not a convoluted rental property that I will NEVER own.
In the end of this one, I’ll say this; “Thank you WordPress and Jetpack for pointing the spotlight on one of the things that has encouraged, inspired and motivated me to never give up and never give in: My now ingrained personal creed; “We are to create, not to compete.”
