DAY 32 — MONSTER MOVIES

Monster movies taught me something important very early: being scared can be fun when you know where the light switch is.
The best creature features aren’t merely about the monster. They’re about anticipation. The footprint. The shadow. The scientist insisting everything is under control approximately thirty seconds before proving otherwise.
And movies gave monsters faces. Once you’ve seen a great Dracula, Frankenstein’s monster or Creature, that image moves into your imagination and starts paying no rent whatsoever.
Tonight, pick a monster movie and actually watch it. Phone down. Lights low. Let the thing do the job it was built to do.
Popcorn optional. Screaming encouraged.
