DAY 49 — HOME HAUNTS

Some people decorate for Halloween. Other people look at their garage and think, “This could be a slaughterhouse by Saturday.”
Those are my people.
Home haunters transform ordinary yards, garages and spare rooms with whatever they can build, borrow or convince a spouse is absolutely necessary. The result may only operate a few nights, but that’s not wasted effort. That’s theater.
I admire anyone who creates an experience simply because neighbors might enjoy it. No corporate committee. No giant budget. Just imagination made physical.
If somebody near you has built one, go through it. Scream appropriately. Compliment the builder. They probably started planning next year’s version before you reached the exit.
