What do you enjoy most about writing?

Words matter. But sometimes they don’t. And that’s the most fun part of writing.

Just making oddball shit up right off the top of one’s head for the sake of personal amusement and nothing else.

No sales

No underlying message

No moral to the story

Just organized gibberish. If you’re so inclined.

I don’t do it nearly often enough these days but this prompt reminded me how much I enjoyed this type of word doodling. But why? I see like a brain dump. Word salad. Crap on the page for the sake of crap on a page.

Like the story of a room full of monkeys and typewriters. Something magical may actually happen.

Maybe not.

But the flex, the stretch, the yawn, the brain dump… for me, it’s another amazing thing found in the joy of writing.
