DAY 58 — THE VEIL THINS

We’re close enough to Halloween now that folklore says the walls get thin.

The idea of a boundary between worlds weakening around this season appears in various traditions and modern retellings, though the neat phrase “the veil thins” often carries more contemporary packaging than people realize.

I still love the image.

Not because I need to certify an invisible membrane between dimensions, but because late October genuinely feels transitional. Summer is gone. Leaves are falling. Darkness arrives earlier. The year itself seems to be crossing a threshold.

Folklore takes that feeling and gives it a door.

And for the next few nights, we’ll leave it cracked.
