Now, Go Play Workshop Companion
Source: Existing Now, Go Play Playground and its eight activity guides
Same method for the whole room, but each person picks their own subject. Smartphone first; desktop and laptop friendly. Free attendance; optional contributions or separate sponsorships.
The workshop flow
1. Choose Your Playground
Pick an object, forgotten idea, passion, memory or completely ridiculous premise; there is no assigned genre.
AI conversation starter — expand and copy
Act as a playful creative partner. Ask me one question at a time to help me choose a subject I genuinely want to play with. Offer options, but don’t decide my topic.
Jim’s checkpoint: Stop the room, compare approaches, invite questions, challenge default AI answers and return the decisions to each participant.
2. Find the Spark
Look for the instinct behind the interest. Jim demonstrates how a trivial object can become a story, world, character or comedic premise.
AI conversation starter — expand and copy
Ask what makes my chosen topic fun for me. Suggest three different directions—a story, a visual experiment, and a physical activity—without turning them into a business opportunity.
Jim’s checkpoint: Stop the room, compare approaches, invite questions, challenge default AI answers and return the decisions to each participant.
3. Make the Cheap Version
Use a phone, paper, household object or available tools to prototype something in 20–30 minutes.
AI conversation starter — expand and copy
Help me build a simple version of my chosen project using what I already have. Give me one step at a time and keep it inexpensive. Ask me to judge every creative choice.
Jim’s checkpoint: Stop the room, compare approaches, invite questions, challenge default AI answers and return the decisions to each participant.
4. Show, React, Play Again
Invite voluntary sharing, friendly laughter and constructive feedback; never require public performance.
AI conversation starter — expand and copy
Help me describe what I made, what surprised me and what I want to try next. Don’t judge success by followers, money or polish.
Jim’s checkpoint: Stop the room, compare approaches, invite questions, challenge default AI answers and return the decisions to each participant.
What leaves the room
A tangible playful creation: a 30-second commercial, character, short story, sketch, mini-world, object concept or recorded performance.
Jim’s role
Jim is the ringmaster, storyteller, permission-giver and live director. AI is a creative foil; the participant owns the imagination.
Lab boundaries
The existing Playground sells optional digital field guides. This new free workshop does not require any purchase or paid guide.
Working scratch pad. Not yet field-tested. Recording or testimonials require participant consent. AI First Contact remains the active launch priority.
